郑芝琳1991年出生于广东，现工作生活于广州郊区，2014年毕业于广州美术学院油画系，2017年从广州美术学院油画系取得专业硕士学位。郑芝琳的实践围绕一种对置于臆想现实空间及人形态的探索，尝试用形体与物理空间上的变形、错位去描述看似贴近现实的幻相图景，其中的比例失调但不失和谐的人物主体、扁平错乱的空间和扭动或静止的物体相互并置，构建了一个流动的图像。其作品刻意强调了彩铅这一材料的使用，在她画面上能看到多处彩色铅笔层叠多次后的精微层次，她也试图用这种极其缓慢的绘画方式来描绘图景中互文的的凝滞感与流动性。

Zheng Zhilin was born in 1991 in Guangdong, currently lives and works in Guangzhou. She graduated in 2014 from The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a Bachelor degree, later she got her Master’s degree from The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2017.

Zheng’s practice revolves around an exploration of imaginative spaces and the proportion of human figures. The contortion and dislocation of figures in physical spaces are being manipulated to fit into an artistic landscape created by her imagination. A sense of harmony is co-existing with depicted body parts; being together, they function as a flowing image with movements. Her work draws attention to the usage of coloured pencils, coatings of marks are being lied on paper as Zheng is adapting such a meticulous process to showcase the slacking exchange of literal and pictorial elements within the drawings.
